Lace Lace and... More Lace

Wedding dress update! Only a few weeks till Kati's big day and the dress is almost complete! Most recently I've added lace covered side panels to the bodice and completed most of the beading. We still need our pearl beads and buttons! Things are coming along quite nicely though! <3 Kati is super amped to wear her dress and I can't blame her! She looks absolutely divine in it of course :)

Light Bulb=Burning Brightly

The dress is coming along nicely! I've gotten most of it pinned and ready to sew. The lace and buttons will come last. Kati loves it thus far! 6 Months till the big day! I'd say I'm doing pretty darn good ;) My new sewing machine is a Singer. I'm really excited to use it! The fabric I found for the dress is a really goregeous high sheen satin in ivory. I will update as soon as I begin the sewing process!

Light Bulb = Flickering

My friend Kati has bestowed on me the honor to sew her wedding dress. Although I have zero experience in the wedding department, I have sewn dresses and other clothing items. I have a plan and I hope it all comes together in time for her vintage inspired wedding in May of 2012. We've discussed the basics and this is what we've come up with thus far...

*She wants an ivory gown because white does not do her fair skin justice!
*The gown will have her 3 favorite elements, buttons, lace and flowers
*She wants a mermaid style to compliment her curves
*The gown must also have a small to medium train
*She has a budget of $500.00 maximum

We plan to meet at Coffee Talk in Clare next week to figure out the rest of the details. I have a sketch pad so that we can plan out the final design, a measuring tape so I can adjust my dress form to her size, and fabric samples that I ordered online. Below are some photos of dresses Kati likes. I'll be attempting to mesh them all into one!

Peace and Love!
